The Daejeon Tourism Organization conducted a “Medical Tourism Professional Development Training” program at the Daejeon Convention Center on June 20-21. This program, aimed at enhancing Daejeon's medical tourism sector, was organized in collaboration with the Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare. A total of 42 participants, including hospital staff, university affiliates, and medical tourism professionals from the region, attended the training.

The training curriculum was designed to improve industry understanding and practical skills. It covers topics such as △the latest global trends and prospects in medical tourism, △case studies of successful and unsuccessful marketing strategies for attracting foreign patients, △marketing analysis using Google Analytics, and △legal aspects related to medical law and recruiting foreign patients.

To ensure the relevance and quality of the training, industry experts including Attorney Cho Woo-sun, Shin Young-jong, CEO of MEDIROUND, Park Jin-young, Team Leader at the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, Sung Sook-kyung, Team Leader at Seoul Asan Medical Center, and Kim Yoo-sun, CEO of TheOneMedi, led the sessions.

Following the training, participants were offered a family tour, which included a visit to the International Health Screening Center at Yuseong Sun Medical Center and wellness tourism sites. This provided them with practical field experience in attracting foreign patients. The Daejeon Tourism Organization plans to continue expanding its pool of professionals and offering ongoing specialized training programs to strengthen the capabilities of those working in the medical tourism sector.
