Daejeon Tourism Organization Promotes Medical Wellness Fam Tour with ‘Mongolia Khan-Uul Medical Center’

From June 12 to 14, the Daejeon Tourism Organization organized a three-day benchmarking fam tour for the medical staff of Khan-Uul Medical Center in Mongolia to improve the quality of medical services at Khan-Uul Medical Center.

This fam tour was based on an agreement signed in 2022 between the Daejeon Tourism Organization and a local Mongolian agency, Creative Diamond Co. Ltd., through the Korea Tourism Organization’s Ulaanbaatar branch to attract Mongolian medical wellness tourists. The tour introduced Daejeon's medical infrastructure to 24 Khan-Uul Medical Center staff members, providing them with individual health checkups to experience Daejeon’s medical services.

On June 13, the organization held a promotional briefing at the Daejeon Convention Center for the medical staff of Khan-Uul Medical Center, introducing ‘Science City Daejeon,’ its advanced medical infrastructure, medical wellness tourism, and local festivals, including the Daejeon 0 O’clock Festival. The itinerary included △a tour of the Yuseong Sun Hospital International Health Examination Center and a health checkup, △a noodle-making experience at the Jang-dong Gyeryongsan Rural Experience Village, △visits to the Lee Ungno Museum and △the Daejeon Museum of Art, △Daejeon Expo Aquarium, and △Sungsimdang in the original downtown area of Daejeon.

Living International and Creative Diamond organized this event, which was supported by the Korea Tourism Organization’s Ulaanbaatar branch and the Daejeon Tourism Organization.

Yoon Seong-guk, President of the Daejeon Tourism Organization, stated, “This fam tour for the medical staff of Khan-Uul Medical Center was an opportunity to showcase the excellence of Daejeon’s medical infrastructure and services. We will do our utmost to strengthen cooperation and provide active support to attract Mongolian medical tourists by working closely with foreign patient attraction agencies in Mongolia and Daejeon.”
