Beneath the Beautiful Sunset
Organized annually in the fall by the Daejeon Tourism Organization, the Daejeon International Wine Expo is the largest wine trade show in Korea. Over 100,000 visitors and exhibitors from 16 countries worldwide can sample over 10,000 varieties of wine for free.
Not only does the Daejeon International Wine Expo offer a variety of specialized wine programs such as the Asia Wine Trophy, International Wine Conference, and National Sommelier Championship, but it also features wine tastings for different countries, diverse cultural performances, and a range of interactive programs, making the event as rich and enjoyable as the wines themselves.
Wine Dining Enjoyed Beneath the Sunset
The Daejeon Tourism Organization, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korea Tourism Organization, is pushing forward with the nighttime tourism city project, having been selected for the global landmark category. In August, a 15-meter-tall dreamy nighttime sculpture was unveiled in conjunction with the 'Midnight Festival.' Media art, a fusion of science and art, was displayed on the exterior wall of the Daejeon Modern History Exhibition Hall, and AI art installations were also exhibited. On weekends, they ran the 'Science Night Camp,' which utilized the Shinsegae Department Store in Daejeon, the Nexperium, and the Daejeon Expo Aquarium. In September, they launched the 'Sunset Wine Dining' with the Daejeon International Wine Expo.
The Sunset Wine Dining experience on the Expo Bridge makes this year's Expo even more special. Under the evening sky painted by the setting sun, attendees can enjoy a wine dining experience accompanied by jazz performances, gourmet dishes from renowned chefs, and award-winning wines from the expo.
