Ultrasound Guided Precision Injection Aid, US-Guider
The US-Guider is an ultrasound-guided injection device that was introduced in 2016. Injection therapy utilizing ultrasound diagnostics is gaining popularity but adjusting the position and depth of the needle according to the surgeon's hand can cause pain and bleeding. Sohn Moon-ho, the director of Dr. Sohn's Orthopedic Clinic, invented the world's first ultrasound-guided injection technology. It is a technology that examines the condition of the patient's muscles using an ultrasound monitor, with the US-Guider being attached to the transducer probe, enabling the drug to be injected precisely at the required location and depth. The US-Guider, to which this technology is applied, is an injection device that aids in both diagnosis and procedure execution. The injection needle's depth and angle can be adjusted, allowing injections to be administered at the correct site regardless of the medical staff's level of expertise. Additionally, the support can move in tandem with the syringe to significantly reduce the patient's bleeding and discomfort. The US-Guider is currently patented in the United States and China, is recognized as a guided ultrasound procedure, and medical staff in Russia are currently being provided with technical training on its use.
Renowned innovative physician who serves as a model for Korean physician-scientists
Based on his 25 years of experience treating patients and developing medical devices, director Sohn Moon-ho published the book No Turtle with Dementia. He departed from the belief that the cause of dementia, which affects one in ten Koreans aged 65 and older, is the natural degeneration of brain cells, and suggested that local sarcopenia caused by turtle neck syndrome(head forward posture syndrome) disrupts blood flow to the brain; his book discusses treatment and prevention related to this condition. Moreover, he is a challenging scientist-physician who continues to develop various treatments and medical devices for the convenience of patients and the advancement of medical technology with brilliant ideas, such as winning a contest by conceiving the 'My Medicine' app, which identifies the shape and name of medications.
