In August, the Daejeon Tourism Organization participated in Singapore's 'NATAS Holidays 2022' event to promote the Daejeon Wellness Tourism Program and conduct promotional marketing to attract foreign tourists. NATAS Holidays is the largest tourism fair in Singapore, attracting over 120,000 visitors annually. Participating organizations included travel agencies, airlines, and national institutions, and the number of medical tourists exceeded 50 thousand.
By holding promotional information sessions for Singaporean travel agencies and FIT tourists, Daejeon Tourism Organization introduced the city's cutting-edge medical technology, wellness tourist attractions, local festivals, and concierge services to attract foreign tourists. There were a number of subscription events involving Kumdori merchandise (the city's mascot) and online channels (including the non-face-to-face medical service application MODOC, newsletters, and social networking sites) that were promoted at the Daejeon PR booth, and the Wine Festival and the Science Festival are just two of the many festivals and events that have been announced for the region.
The Daejeon Tourism Organization hopes to use this expo as a springboard for further marketing efforts, such as the promotion of FAM trips in conjunction with Singaporean travel agencies.
Daejeon International Wine Festival
The '2022 Daejeon International Wine Festival,' the largest wine festival in Korea, was held at Daejeon Convention Center Exhibition Halls 1 and 2 and Mulbit Plaza from August 26-28. The Daejeon International Wine Festival, which celebrated its 11th anniversary this year, has attracted the attention of not only Daejeon residents, but also wine enthusiasts and experts from around the globe.
As the largest wine tasting zone in Asia, visitors were able to sample approximately 10,000 varieties of wines from major wine-producing nations such as Italy, Spain, France, and Germany. The Daejeon International Wine Festival serves as a hub for the domestic wine distribution industry, where visitors can sample a variety of wines and industry professionals can conduct business transactions.
Asian Wine Trophy, one of the world's three largest wine competitions recognized by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), as well as wine experts and enthusiasts, attended this year's event. Various related events, such as the 'Asian Wine Conference' and the 'Sommelier Competition,' where visitors can encounter a vast array of wine-related information, as well as numerous side events where they can experience various cultural performances, were also held.
